HR Compliance Supervisor
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced HR Compliance Supervisor to join our team. Reporting to the HR Compliance Manager, you will oversee the implementation and adherence to employment laws throughout the Associate lifecycle, from recruitment to separation. In this role, you’ll collaborate with HR, HRIS, Compensation, Payroll, Legal, and IT departments to ensure compliance across the organization while leading a dedicated team of HR professionals. This is a full-time, in-office role offering the opportunity to play a vital part in driving compliance and governance excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Partner with HR leaders and other departments to audit, monitor, and implement compliance programs, policies, and processes. Develop and deliver executive summaries and project plans to track initiatives effectively.
- Vendor Oversight: Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, and implement technology solutions to meet compliance needs.
- Employment Law Adherence: Collaborate with Legal to monitor federal, state, and local employment regulations, including wage and hour laws, and ensure compliance across multi-state operations.
- Background Check Compliance: Supervise the Background Check process, ensuring adherence to FCRA and Fair Chance requirements.
- Policy Development: Lead the implementation of policies and procedures, create communication and training materials, and educate leaders on employment law requirements.
- Expansion Projects: Partner with Legal to assess employment law requirements in new states, update policies or systems, and develop training content.
- Handbook Management: Research, draft, publish, and communicate updates to the Associate handbook, including related training for Store and Support Leaders.
- Regulatory Reporting: Oversee compliance efforts, respond to requests from legal entities, and ensure timely regulatory filings.
- Training Oversight: Review and update compliance training materials to meet legal standards, such as AB1825 and SB 1343.
- Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of HR professionals to support department goals and administrative needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field (PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in HR compliance, employment law, or related fields.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.
- Advanced project management skills, with a proven record of implementing compliance programs.
- Expertise in multi-state and federal employment laws, including wage and hour regulations.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis, risk mitigation, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience with HR technology platforms (e.g., Oracle HCM, Asana, LMS, Jira).
Work Schedule & Compensation:
- Salary Range: $110,000 - $137,500 annually (based on experience and qualifications).
- Bonus Eligibility: Participation in the company bonus program.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional overtime as needed.
